The BoardWorx Executive Director Program (BWED) is the first program to launch under the BoardWorx stream of programs. While the BoardMatch® stream of programs focus on ‘expanding’ the volunteer pool of new board members; BoardWorx is a new stream of programs focused on enhancing the skill sets of staff in the charitable sector in the area of governance.

BWED is an innovative, multifaceted approach to board governance learning; combining interactive classroom sessions, peer learning circles and mentoring to support senior leaders in working more effectively with their boards. BoardWorx will provide Executive Directors opportunities to address governance issues in a confidential setting with their peers.

Who should attend?

Executive Directors of registered charities who are interested in learning how to work more effectively with their volunteer boards.

What is the Cost?

The BWED program is free of cost to all participating Executive Directors. The estimated value of all program components combined averages $3,000 per participant.

Benefits of Participation:

Opportunity to participate in learning focused on: governance models, board/staff relationships, board composition and recruitment, diversity, conflict management, engaging your board in resource development and other governance related topics.
Interactive learning in a confidential environment, where Executive Directors can share experiences with peers, discuss case scenarios and apply curriculum.

Executive Directors will…

Increase their level of confidence in their ability to work effectively with their volunteer board
Become more skilled in working with their board and addressing governance challenges
Begin to view and utilize their volunteer board as a strategic asset
