Monday,
April 4, 2005
After saying our 'goodbyes' at Toronto airport,
Katrina and I flew to and overnighted in
Hong Kong. We arose early to catch our Thai
Airways flight to Bangkok and then onto
Kathmandu, where we met up with our expedition
team members. The trekking team came together
at the hotel in Kathmandu where everyone
took some time to take in some of the local
sights and shopping, and do an important
equipment check. Nepal was secure but heavily
patrolled by armed soldiers. 5:30am came
early on Monday for the team, as they boarded
a 'hopper' flight to Lukla in the Kambu
