| What's New? |
The Board of Directors of Altruvest Charitable Services, well known for their innovative BoardMatch ® programs, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Harris as Chief Executive Officer.
Harris, 48, most recently served as the General Manager of the Professional and Trade Division at Wiley Canada, where he spent seven years growing a successful sales, marketing and product development operation. Prior to his executive appointment at Wiley, Harris held various sales and marketing leadership roles within the Canadian publishing industry. In addition to his business credentials, Harris has been active in fundraising and project development within the Canadian charitable sector for many years. Harris holds an MBA from the University of Toronto.
Rob Follows, Founder and Chair, said the Altruvest Board unanimously selected Harris based on his business acumen and executive track record, as well as his strong desire to build capacity within Canadian charities.
"Robert came to our attention because of his strong execution skills, his proven ability to connect with people, and his track record with respect to intellectual property and project management,” said Follows. “As we got to know Robert, we were impressed by his emphasis on understanding the role of culture at Altruvest and his commitment to building our capabilities to better serve all our stakeholders."
Harris said, "Altruvest is one of Canada’s great charities, with an exceptional reputation for training, developing and matching talent via BoardMatch ® for a wide cross-section of philanthropic needs. I was very attracted to Altruvest’s unique contributions and it’s a great honor to have the opportunity to build on its success." Harris added, “I am also delighted to be working closely with Susan Dunne, Executive Director. Susan will continue to apply her rich expertise in the areas of program delivery, operations and training to ensure we deliver a high-quality experience to our volunteers, charities and partners.”
